I scoured settings to find any difference between both before and after the problem occurs, but cannot find anything. So far so good.Īs soon as anything happens after that to disrupt this - the headphones getting unplugged for a split second, or the computer going into sleep or hibernate, even if it is just the screen saver coming on - after that the sound plays through both speakersĪnd headphones.

Upon starting my computer, whether headphones are already plugged in before or after, sound plays correctly through my headphones and the speakers are muted. Since the latest larger windows update about a month ago, I have been having a problem that I cannot seem to solve with the standard solutions and what I could find from googling several hours on several days.
